A Space Wedding with a little help from my Facebook friends.

I love handmade.

Whether you are buying it for your house, yourself, your loved ones or your wedding. You are buying something that is unique and individual to you. You are supporting artisans like me. You aren’t buying an object, a thing, you are buying hundreds of hours of blood, sweat and tears. You are buying a little piece of that artist. Your purchase is vital to our creative growth and dream of earning a living doing something we love.

This point is illustrated beautifully in this painting by Kate Brazier – Artist

I am part of a group on Facebook called Showcase Handmade UK. We are a group of such artisans who have come together to hold regular themed showcases. Today I would like to share with you some of the makes from our Out of This World showcase, as I think there are some pieces in there that would be just perfect for a space themed wedding.

First up this Hoop Art by Gift Patch. It is a 8″ Alien hoop art with hanging rocket detail has been hand stitched in felt with glitter stars and button accents to create an out of this world scene! It  could be personalised with a bridesmaid or pageboys name and would make a lovely present and keepsake for them.

As would this ‘Blast Off’ fabric canvas by Annette Mackie Handmade. Which could, if not placed on a canvas,  be strung up to make the most out of this world bunting. It is made using wool blend felt and cotton fabrics (and a Harris tweedy moon!) with button detail.
These “Starry Sky” fused glass coasters by Practical Kat would make the most stunning favours. They are simple and fun. The glitter ‘stars’ are suspended within the glass and appear to be hanging in front of a backdrop of subtly shimmering deep blue. They could also be used as candle stands on table centrepieces – flickering candlelight makes the stars come alive.

This beautiful necklace by Magic Beanz Bespoke Jewellery & Gifts, with it’s lovely sentiment would make a wonderful gift to a Bride from her Groom, or equally to a very special Bridesmaid. Whilst being in perfect keeping with a Space Themed day.10690314_836158926429063_760130945397985859_n
